Stretching has been part of my life since I was a little girl—because dance has been part of my life for just as long. As a ballet dancer of over 20 years, I learned early on that mobility and flexibility are what make ballet the beautiful art form that it is.
In 2019, I discovered Fascial Stretch Therapy (FST) and later opened my own FST business in Nashville, TN. That’s when I learned something that completely transformed not just how I stretched, but how I understood my body.
I realized I’d been doing it all wrong.
Throughout high school, I constantly battled injuries as a dancer, unaware that my stretching routines were causing me more harm than good. What I’ve learned since then—what I now call my 6 Pillars for Self-Fascia Stretching—changed everything.
For years, I was unintentionally creating pain, increasing my risk of injury, and dreading the time I spent stretching. Today, stretching is no longer a chore. It’s an intentional and productive self-care tool I use daily—not just to release tightness, but to ground myself and regulate my nervous system.
Stretching is so much more than just “a way to touch your toes.” It’s a powerful tool for both mental and physical health.
